30 days of april {enjoy playing catch up}

I wasn't sure what the problem was, all I knew is that I felt like that girl in the Zoloft commercial with the little black cloud hanging over her head.

In retrospect, I was starting to get burnt out. When I tried to make a list of the things I should do to get rid of the feeling, I could only think of things like:

Take a long drive down a country road with the windows open
Drive thru a Starbucks and order as if everything was zero calories
Have a day-long nap
Facial, pedicure, manicure, massage...

And here's the idea I decided on; the last item on the list:

Take a weekend off.

So here I am, 9:00pm on a Sunday evening after a long, hot shower, knowing that I probably have thirty emails to answer, but that they can wait until morning. I clocked out on Friday afternoon and I think I can say with certainty that this is exactly what I needed.

It helped that Scott, Rebecca, and Ivy were in town (how can her little face not put you in a great mood?).

And you know what, sometimes life happens...and it's okay to find yourself playing catch up.

{enjoy writing}

Lately the only type of writing I've been doing is taking notes in preparation of this big styled wedding shoot I'm working on with a team of fab vendors :)

{enjoy cooking}

Because weekend mornings are made better by Scott's famous fluffy pancakes...

{enjoy doodling}

Right now all I can think of is doodling this little guy's name over and over again in hearts, because...I'm in love. Look at him...

Only problem is...we haven't named him yet!

I know, I know, that was the most undramatic way to announce that WE GOT A PUPPY!!!! But trust me when I say, more on this to come.

To all of you faithful blog readers,
thank you for putting up with me,
even when I was having an "off" week :)
