project-less and lost

A lovely Bride turned friend told me that after her wedding, she experienced a mild form of post-nuptual depression. Minus all the really serious parts of depression...and really just a general lack of purpose.

Now that her wedding was over, she didn't really have a project to work on, and unlike the previous months, there was no crafty stuff to occupy all of her free time.

She asked me if I went through this...

I have to say, I couldn't relate. After my wedding, my life was all about gearing up for the honeymoon, and then when we got home, I put my business pants back on and started preparing for the destinations weddings I'd shoot in January.

However, last week I launched the new look for both the blog and website, and today, well...I'm bored.

Not bored in the sense that I have nothing to do, because there's always a constant stream of email to look after, and a general tidying of the house to be done...but bored in the sense that I am officially project-less.

I can't remember the last time this occurred!

For the last 3 or 4 weeks every little bit of time at my desk was spent picking out new photos for the galleries, resizing icons, converting font files, and learning a bunch of new HTML stuff for my blog design...but now, I'm at my desk and I find myself just aimlessly wandering the internet.

I NEED A NEW PROJECT.

Something to sink my creative teeth into!
Something that gets me all fired up!

I wonder if this is a good time to start working on another styled shoot? Maybe something for the Spring? I'm sure it's very unprofessional to blog about such a young idea, without having consulted ANYONE in the industry about it...but what can I say, that's my style.

Now, since I can't finish this post without some sort of visual element, I'm going to share this video, which marks the completion of another thing on my list...

#69: laugh until I can't breathe

While we were in Toronto, hanging out in a hotel room, someone passed this video around on a phone...

It was around 1 minute 40 seconds when I started not being able to breathe.
