jillian + stuart | ottawa hunt and golf club wedding

Jillian is the embodiment of the Laura Kelly Bride. She was such a pleasure to work with over the year leading up to the wedding date. She radiates joy and makes everything she does look incredibly easy. I am so pleased that she has found the perfect man to walk through life with. Stuart is kind, genuine, and loves her to bits.

While editing a wedding, it's my job to pick up on subtleties, to catch the difference between a forced smile and a real one. To notice the people in the background and to be sure that the photo is an accurate representation of the moment as it happened in real life. There was an expression I saw on Stuart's face that I kept seeing over and over again. Every time I saw it it made me smile for some reason. I started to notice that the expression only came up when he was looking at his beautiful new wife.

It was a look that could only mean, "Am I ever lucky to have found this girl..."

On this bright and sunny Friday morning, it is my great pleasure to share with you the wedding of Jillian and Stuart. I hope you love their photos even half as much as I do.

The first detail I fell in love with that morning was the custom tote gift bags for the bridesmaids. Jillian had written a little something on the backs of the cards, and I could tell the bridesmaids felt very special.

Love this next photo so much. This is so her...

I was actually obsessing over Jill's dress choice. It reminded me of the dress in Runaway Bride, where she swishes like a bell back and forth. You all know what I'm talking about!

Classic and timeless pieces from Sarah Walsh Bridal Jewellery pulled everything together.

The ceremony took place at the Trinity Anglican Church on Bank Street. The Reverend, Arran, performed an absolutely beautiful sermon and a touching service. Everyone was captivated by him that afternoon.

The weather was absolutely perfect. Wedding party photos in the park was our next stop.

Okay, so was it clear that I was in sunshine-meets-floral heaven?

With this view you can see the lace that was wrapped about Jillian's bouquet, a keepsake from her mother from her own wedding dress. Brenda told me she had a few extra pieces cut in case there are some granddaughters in her future. This is the stuff I love, friends.

Over at the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club, Jillian and Stuart's guests were enjoying cocktails and appetizers on the balcony overlooking the golf course.

Thimble Cakes -- y'all did so good on this one.

Jillian and Stu -- thank you for introducing me to your people.
I loved meeting every one of them and witnessing your wedding day by their sides. Your wedding was the epitome of what my business is about -- happy people in love. I hope you have the BEST time on your honeymoon and that you feel all the love from the people around you during this exciting time.
Love love love.
