kelly + peter | mill street brew pub wedding

"Life is a collection of moments. Some are of joy, some are of love. There are moments of success, hope, despair. These moments come to us in no particular order. They aren't evenly distributed across a person's lifetime. We can't predict them, they just show up.

But what a blessing to have someone to share in each and every one of those moments. And with that person, the wonderful moments will be so much greater than the difficult ones. My hope and my wish for Kelly & Peter is that you always remember to turn to each other and find care, faith, peace, and love in one another."

By candlelight, in a room of Kelly & Peter's best friends and closest family members, those words were spoken. And tears welled up in our eyes, confident that we were witnessing one of those wonderful moments that Kelly's father spoke about. I couldn't think of a better collection of words to begin this recap of Kelly & Peter's beautiful wedding...

This ring & invitation combo makes me happy, and reminds me of my favourite coffee mug from Anthropologie.

Every last detail to perfection...

On the other side of town, Peter and his charming groomsmen were getting ready in style. Ben, Kelly & Peter's furry little love, made his first of several appearances.

Time to get this beautiful bride into her dress!

I had to peel myself away from Kelly and her stunning bridesmaids to head over to the first look location. I could have photographed her gracefully floating around that AirBnB all day.

Kelly & Peter wanted to do a first look so that they could really enjoy every minute with their guests. Many of them had travelled across the globe, quite literally, in order to be there. Every minute counted. Every hello during cocktail hour made a difference.

Putting a bow tie on Ben, naturally. He was the ring bearer after-all and had to look his best.

The colours and florals and smiles on this group -- I'm in heaven!

Have you ever seen a more gorgeous bride & groom?

Just a few minutes down the street, the chairs were in place and the music was playing for the ceremony on the lawn of the Rockliffe Park Pavilion.

The reception would be held at Mill Street Brewpub, a location that mixes that comfortable restaurant atmosphere we all love, with an effortless "cool" vibe.

I hope this garland of greenery trend never ends, because it's so pretty on camera and in real life!

Huge framed photos from the engagement. Turns out this semi-cloudy day was perfect for the wedding colour scheme.

Okay. The moment you've all been waiting for. Everyone has been asking me since I posted the photo of the keg exploding whether Kelly was upset that her dress got wet, or if that was supposed to happen... So let me walk you through the entire moment.

It's a tradition at Mill Street for the bride and groom to tap the keg as a way to kick off the dance party. Kelly and Peter were asked if they wanted to wear a garbage bag over their clothes in case beer shot out everywhere, at which point Kelly replied, "I'm changing outta this dress anyway!" She was so excited as she swung the hammer around while guests piled onto the dance floor.

This one is my absolute favourite.

Obviously the magical photography GOLD moment right here.

Bridesmaids were right in the line of fire. Everyone was dyinggggg. Just means they'll have to dance till their dresses are dry ;)

Rockstars.

Kelly & Peter -- you guys are the reason that people dream about their wedding day. You've somehow struck the perfect balance of looking good, feeling good, and having a blast from sun up until sun down.
