tie the knot wedding show recap

This was a new one for me! I've done the Ottawa Wedding Show, I've done ENGAGE Ottawa, but the Tie the Knot Wedding Show was completely uncharted territory. Until we pulled up the van to unload, I'd never set foot in the Ottawa Conference & Events Centre, so after so much planning I couldn't really even picture the space until the day before!

I am so excited to share a few photos from my booth this year. White shiplap walls, massive gold lettering, and countless happy brides and grooms on canvasses, posters, albums, and business cards. In a way I kept it pretty simple, but on the other hand, this setup was a massive undertaking. Keep your eyes peeled for the behind the scenes post this week. But first, a few shots of the finished product:

These pricing handouts were really well received :) I was thrilled because it was TOUGH to narrow down my style to just 4 photos!

The annual "me with my booth" pic!

This blue box has been with me since my very first show in 2012. It's weird how much I still love it. I think I'll have to uphold the tradition :)

Beautiful Brittany!! She is one of my best friends in the world and my biggest cheerleader. I can't imagine doing this without her <3

After I took a few photos of my booth, I went on a walk through the show to capture a few photos for some friends. Our first stop on the show tour will be my sweet friend Earleen's booth, celebrating her new bridal salon, Encore Bridal. She also happens to be part of the team that hosted the show, and we are all very indebted to her hard work!

This amazing floral wall and mirror display was orchestrated by Brittany from GLOSS Events & Decor. While she didn't have her own booth at the show, she helped so many vendors bring their vision to life.  A little birdie tells me this isn't the last time you'll be seeing photos of that particular floral wall...

Tie the Knot SWAG! These mugs were super cute and brides were pumped to carry them around at the show :)

Our next stop is close to my heart: my dear friend Shannon from Kennedy Event Planning. I cannot WAIT for the wedding we are working on together this September!! We have been friends and cheerleaders for each other for almost 5 years now. So proud of her gorgeous display here <3

Swooning over this palette of ivory and blush pink and gold. Totally Kennedy Events style.

Pollen Nation had so many pretty display pieces.

Becca from Happy Ever Crafter had some really lovely examples of the seating charts and welcome signs she creates for her clients, as well as a ton of merchandise for the bride, groom, and wedding party.

Love this dessert menu:

As always, With Love Bridal had a giant booth to display some gorgeous gowns. This year they had signs for both With Love Bridal in Kanata and their new consignment shop, Renewed With Love, in Carleton Place.

I have dreams of this dress on a Laura Kelly Bride now...

My girls, Kirsty & Klava had a darling joint booth for hair and makeup. Topknot Hair & Klava Z -- so much talent in there!

I took this pic! I was pretty psyched about it when I spotted it!

Heard so many compliments about these business cards:

The ALE public eatery in Stittsville really pulled out a gorgeous booth set up, along with a gold sparkling bar. Love!

No need to introduce the name of this next booth, thanks to this wooden welcome sign!

These girls!! Shannon from One Fine Beauty and Lori from Showpony Hair are a serious power couple. Their massive booth in the atrium was called the "Beauty Bar," and they were busy working and schmoozing with brides all day long. Love them!! And blessed to have so many clients working with this team in 2017 <3

Okay. My friend Christine from LaFabère blew me away with her booth this year. We first met almost exactly this weekend last year at the ENGAGE wedding show, where she was live painting directly in front of my booth. We became friends and over the past year I've seen her business blossom (pun intended!) into the amazing company you see here. No words for her talent. I can't wait to photograph more of her pieces in 2017 -- stay tuned!

Everything is handmade with designs by Christine and feature little details that go a long way.

Plus she's just a lovely person inside and out.

Next up: the show stopping booth by Sage Designs. My mom visited the show to check out my booth and one of the first things she said is, "did you see that booth with the flowers?!" Yup, this is the one.

This chalkboard backdrop was so perfect for the Handmade Bride <3

Love her style!

My girls at Osso Sweet know how to make a freakin' sweets display. They kill it every single time and it's such a delight to photograph their flawless pieces.

Pretty much died when I saw this centrepiece cake.

I've had the pleasure of working with Jessica from Ink Blossom before, but until this show we had never really met! I found our clients' invitation on this shelf -- shout out to Amanda & Ron!

A beautiful draped booth by Orchard View!

And last but certainly not least, the immaculate display that was Chic Wedding Planners -- holy freaking cow. I had a direct view of this masterpiece from my booth and it smelled like heaven thanks to The Design Co Florals <3

Detailed down to the roses on the backs of the chairs... <3

The beautiful Julie behind all of this colour and luxury!

To all of the vendors who participated in the show -- congrats on creating such stunning displays! It was so wonderful to walk around and photograph a few booths before the show, but I certainly did not have time to get to EVERYONE. Hope to see you all next year! <3

And to my team, who made the Laura Kelly Photography booth happen, I am so grateful for your help. I was so proud of my set up this year and that was only because of the support from behind the scenes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

SPECIAL THANKS TO:

Brittany D - beautiful booth assistant who snap chatted options to make sure she dressed "on brand"
