celina + matt | elegant wedding at restaurant eighteen in the byward market

How is it only the first week of May and yet I am already fully inspired with the weddings from my off-season! Two stunning destination weddings, and a couple of absolutely beautiful Winter weddings in our frigid city -- I'm so blessed with a very full calendar.

Today is the start of the next chapter though. The Ottawa wedding season is upon us, and I am so excited to kick it off in such a glorious way with Celina & Matt's luxurious downtown celebration. Dig in and enjoy this one, friends! It's a beauty, and filled with some of the most stunning details that you do not want to miss.

Starting with this perfect blush Mori Lee gown that fit Celina like a glove. (And you'll surely remember those spiked Valentino's from their romantic engagement session!!)

It was one of those weddings where every last detail was curated and personalized.

It's such an honour to get to work with Pollen Nation Floral Studio SO much this year. All of the 2018 brides who are working with Katherine are so lucky!

Views from the Andaz Hotel. Not only did they provide the perfect location for the girls to get ready, but the Ceremony would take place on the 2nd floor studio overlooking the market.

Aaaaand this is the part where I need to show love to my girl Christine from LaFabère!! She created this stunning invitation suite that was fit for a princess and her prince charming.

Obsessed with the custom hair comb by Sarah Walsh featuring champagne pearls -- talk about a perfect fit for the dress.

A few quick preparations in the ceremony location for Matthew and his 8-year-old son, Harrison...

...Before heading up to the 16th floor for a private first look.

Finally together, and ready to conquer their magical wedding day hand in hand.

Matt felt represented with Harrison by his side, but Celina definitely wanted to have her girls represent ;) This walk through the market was one of my favourite parts of the day.

And with that -- it was time to walk down the aisle!

During the post-ceremony mingling, Celina and her Maid of Honour, Laura, snuck upstairs to change Celina into a traditional gown in preparation for the tea ceremony. The vibrant red was such a stark contrast and I couldn't get enough.

This is the third traditional tea ceremony I've photographed and I learn something new about the customs and symbolism with each one.

A quick change into her dress again (bless Laura for doing up all of those buttons twice!) and we were on our way to the reception at Restaurant E18hteen!

My favourite bouquet shot...

And my favourite happy faces...

Over at the restaurant, Mel from Makin'It Lovely had been working tirelessly to make this space feel extra luxurious. Signature blush goblets, unlimited candles, striking chargers, and mini personalized macarons for each place setting -- it was stunning.

Seriously the coolest guestbook idea I've seen in quite some time. This transparent gold globe is totally something I would want to display on my shelves for years and years!

Don't even get me started on the food from this wedding. To DIE for.

After dessert, the party kicked off with what was supposed to be lip-synching, but quickly turned into karaoke. Some of the best moments of the night happened on that front staircase of the restaurant.

Celina & Matt -- thank you so much for allowing me to capture this absolutely perfect day! It was the most iconic way to kick off my Ottawa wedding season, and I couldn't be more thankful to have you in the family of happy clients. Sending all my love to you both during the next chapter of your life together!!

And a HUGE thank you to the amazing team of people who brought this wedding to life. It is always a delight to work with an all-star team of talent, and I'm thankful to each and every one of them!!
