nicole + stephane | stonefields barn wedding photographer

I have been counting down the days until June 2nd for quite a long time now, knowing that it would be my first time shooting in the STUNNING barn at Stonefields! And not for just any couple, but for Nicole & Stephane, a pair of high school sweethearts who have been together since Grade 10! The way these two were so connected at their engagement session made me fully confident that their portraits on the wedding day would be a breeze.

And I was right. Nicole and Stephane were so easy to photograph and it's probably because at the heart of June 2nd was a celebration of true love, for two soulmates who couldn't wait to begin their marriage.

The Farmhouse has to go down in history for me as one of the prettiest getting-ready locations ever. The soft velvet couches, that stone fireplace with a perfectly placed hook to hang a dress, and the brightest sunshine coming through windows on all sides.

The Groom's sister, Melanie, designed these gorgeous and intricate invitations. I've seen some of her behind the scenes paintings on Instagram and she's so talented!

This post is floral overload in the best way possible, because I fell in love with everything by Apropos Flowers

Stormy clouds rolled in just moments before the outdoor ceremony, and a few sprinkles of rain fell on the guests' shoulders about two minutes before Nicole would walk down the aisle. We said a prayer, and my favourite DJ, Dynamix Pro, cued up "Here Comes The Sun." Happy to report those drops were the only ones that fell that day.

These two danced the whole way down the aisle, and he couldn't take his eyes off her.

This is my buddy Steve, one of the owners of Stonefields and a serious pro when it comes to pulling off a flawless event. A glass of rosé is what every bride should be handed right after she exits the ceremony!

One photo with the little ones before we set them free :)

And then the party started. As one person commented on a sneak peek I shared last week, "these guys know how to party."

Swooning over these colours! Holy!

Nicole looked so gorgeous with her handcrafted jewellery by Sarah Walsh. Love!

The Stonefields barn is a light-and-airy photographer's dream come true.

Hands down favourite!

One of my favourite features of the Stonefields property in Carleton place is the massive covered cocktail hour space. Guests mixed and mingled out here while the photos were taken, before heading inside to find their seats in the barn.

When I saw this cake I was smitten. But then I noticed the tiny pointy-eared pup on their cake topper, and was so excited that little Domino would be joining us for a few photos later.

This is how you know the Best Man aced his speech.

Dommy! Such a sweet girl in her floral garland by Apropos. Nicole thought of absolutely everything!

When the sunshine started pouring through the clouds I couldn't believe my eyes. We were actually going to get a full blown sunset on what was supposed to be a rainy day! A perfect end to a magical day.

Nicole & Stephane -- I hope you're seeing this post for the first time while connected to the wifi at your Hawaiian resort, maybe poolside, and certainly with a glass of champagne at your sides! Documenting your beautiful wedding day was such a perfect way to kick off the month of June, and I am so thankful to have pulled your name from the wedding show so many months ago!

After 13 years, it was certainly #CHABOUTTIME! Love you guys!
