kelsey & ian | luxury barn wedding at cambium farms

You really never know where you'll meet the other half of your soul; that perfect person to celebrate every milestone with, the best friend that will eventually become a life partner. For Kelsey and Ian, that place was ever so unlikely, in an interview at Target. Ian gave a tough interview, but Kelsey's charm made it impossible for her not to get the job. And even though Target and Canada were in for a major breakup, Kelsey and Ian were destined for an incredible love story.

There are moments in this job where the stars align and you find yourself observing a one-in-a-million couple and consider yourself very lucky. My day with Kelsey, Ian, and their families was one of those privileged moments. I have yet to meet a couple who shows more love, respect, and gratitude than these two. When I look back on this day I picture them standing close to each other while their witnesses signed the official marriage docs, savouring every bit of the sun shining between the trees, and the smiling faces of their guests in the crowd.

I think Kelsey said it best in her speech with this one perfect line:

I can truly say that loving you is the best part of my day.

With that, a spectacular wedding that will surely go down as one of my very favourites ever. LET'S GO:

You just cannot go wrong with an oversized velvet bow tie...

Stepping into Kelsey and Ian's brand new home for the first time felt like Christmas morning. It was a massive clean slate that was begging for bright and beautiful detail photos <3

The most gorgeous group of girls!!

A first look like we've never seen before...

Ready to make some STUNNING bride and groom photos! Prepare to swoon majorly because this next series of images gives me chills.

One of the first lines you'll read on my website is "I'm Laura, and I could shoot an engagement session in a parking garage. That's because I care about people, not backgrounds."

Putting this to the test here by shooting in the venue parking lot. And just look at those happy faces <3

A few moments with the wedding party before the ceremony would begin!

UMM, that's pretty cool. This photo booth was bumpin' during the reception -- such a cool idea!

All sunshine for their perfect outdoor ceremony:

It was SUCH a pleasure to meet Laura from Laura Olsen Events. She designed and executed one of the most incredible barn receptions I've ever seen, with the help of Hunt & Gather Florals and the staff at Cambium Farms

There are so many beautiful details to fall in love with!

Kelsey & Ian -- this wedding was like a love letter to the craft that I have been honing for 8 years. I felt so strongly your appreciation for every little detail, specifically how it is translated into photography that is both beautiful and meaningful. You somehow managed to strike the perfect balance of elegance and luxury, while never straying from a belief of what was really at the heart of this wedding day: two people who are fully and completely meant for each other, and the celebration of their next chapter.

It was such an honour to be by your side and witness every single second. Words cannot thank you enough for trusting me to capture it all <3 I know I'll be seeing you again soon!! xo
