karen + mark | ivy lea club engagement session at sunset

It has been such an adjustment, this whole new routine thing...

Suddenly as my oldest kiddo enters Kindergarten, it hits me that I'll be losing 3 office hours every weekday. Huh... That's quite a bit of time when you add up a whole week's worth! I knew more than ever that my superpower needed to be a sleek workflow, and a conscious effort to keep my calendar obligations to a minimum.

I'm thankful that in times like this I find myself working with the BEST couples who really know how to bring it for their sessions. It makes my day at the editing desk a true delight, and keeps me in a steady stream of creative fulfillment.

And I can't think of a better time than right this very moment to share a beautiful waterfront engagement session on the Thousand Islands. Enjoy!

Something about the alignment of these prongs, I've never loved a solitaire so much!

For Karen & Mark's engagement session, the Ivy Lea Club seemed like a perfect fit. This is the exact location where they will be getting married this November, although it will look very different by then!

Soaking up all the greenery and lush gardens before we return at the end of the season...

I always tell my couples that they should consider the engagement session like homework for both sides. For them, it's learning the little cues and tricks for looking happy and effortless on camera. For me, it's figuring out how they work as a couple and how best to give direction.

Karen & Mark are naturally affectionate and require ZERO posing, even though they really thought they would need concrete instructions. They were such champs and now I can't WAIT to be reunited for the big day :)

Love this one!!

Karen & Mark -- thank you so much for choosing me to hang with you at the Ivy Lea Club twice this year! It's such a cool spot and it really was a pleasure to spend the sunset with you <3 See you soon!! xo
