jackie + jason | toronto wedding at sassafraz restaurant

You might recognize this couple from their summery engagement session, in which case you'll remember that they happen to be friends of ours! Being able to photograph their wedding meant for 100% sure that Ryan and I would be able to attend! We danced the night away and celebrated that our sweet friend Jackie had found her knight in shining armour.

You might wonder why this post kicks off with a photo of a Harry Potter book, but see that red box carved deep into the pages? That's how Jason hid the ring that he would use to ask Jackie to be his wife. Naturally she said yes, which allows us to fast forward to today: a preview of their beautiful wedding photos. It was such a pleasure to witness and document this day; I only hope I did it justice!

A first look moment they'll never forget.

And my personal favourite.

Together we walked the streets of Toronto looking for little nooks and crannies with beautiful light. This is my favourite way of scouting!

I swear their love belongs in an entirely different decade.

Clutches instead of bouquets! This is totally something Jackie would do, especially as a way to ensure the ladies had a keepsake from the day.

The ceremony and reception were both held at Sassafraz, an up-scale restaurant in Yorkville that made the best tequila lemonade I've ever tasted.

J&J -- what is there to say! We love you guys and are blessed to call you our friends. We love that your wedding was about creating a day of joy and love and forgetting the rest. Good food, great music, and tequila with lemonade -- is there any better way to kick off a beautiful life together?! From the bottom of our hearts, congratulations.
