shannon + brad | isabel bader centre for the performing arts wedding in kingston

She was calm, cool, and collected. She danced around her stunning apartment in downtown Kingston with a mimosa in hand, surrounded by friends and her loving parents. Shannon was the epitome of a happy bride.

I think that calmness had something to do with Shannon knowing with every fibre of her being that Brad was the one for her. I've never been so happy witnessing a couple exchange vows and it truly gives me chills to share a collection of my favourite photos today. I hope you're settled in with a cup of coffee because this is a LONG one, my friends!

Can we talk about this apartment balcony for a second? Right in the heart of Kingston, the morning of bridal preparations was set to the soundtrack of live music from the food festival across the street.

Further down the road, the men were putting the finishing touches of their looks. These striking blue suits were absolutely killer.

Shannon and Brad opted for a first look on their day. They saw each other a few hours before the ceremony so that we can do the majority of their wedding photos before the guests would arrive. This allowed them to say "I do" and join the party right away (and you'll see how fun their cocktail hour was a little later in this post...).

Perhaps one of my favourite wedding photos from the day, this was an easy choice for the first sneak peek that I shared on Facebook

This wedding party was so much fun to work with. And talk about a gorgeous group of friends!

Sharing time? The guy on the left stole my sunglasses for this shot. I think he rocks the coral bands better than I do.

Shannon and Brad chose The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts as their venue. It was a DREAM from a photography standpoint. Natural light, views of the water on every side, with clean, modern lines as far as the eye could see. I really hope to be returning to this location for another wedding in the future.

This clean and crisp white reception set up is so chic. I love that Shannon's dad helped by painting the bottles and cutting the wood for the centrepieces! At one point in the day I overheard him say, "how often do you get to use a chainsaw for wedding decor?"

Immediately following the ceremony the guests were informed that a complimentary ice cream truck was parked outside the venue! People were literally gasping. I think it's the most fun cocktail hour surprise I've ever witnessed, and if I were getting married all over again I would totally steal this idea!

I'll end this post with two shots from five minutes spent outside right as the sun was setting...

Shannon and Brad...from the bottom of my heart, I am so thankful that you trusted me to document your wedding. It was a pleasure to photograph and it will remain a highlight of my wedding season, I'm sure of it. You are an amazing pair and I'm lucky to know you.
