sarah + ben | chic fall wedding at evermore weddings and events

This day felt like a celebration. It didn't feel stressful, it didn't feel forced or rushed through. It was Sarah & Ben's wedding day on the most perfect October afternoon, and there was beauty everywhere you looked. Planning a wedding takes a TON of work and yet the newly married Masons made it look easy.

From the perfectly mismatched bridesmaids dresses, to the vibrant bouquets and dreamy sunshine in every photo, it's pretty safe to say this wedding is one of my favourites. Dive in, friends! Because if there's ever been a fall wedding that's worthy of a bridal magazine, it's this one:

I was so inspired by the textures of the bridesmaids dresses that I used them as backgrounds for my detail shots in the morning.

I first photographed Sarah's Anne Sportun ring at their engagement session and fell in love right away.

A 4:00pm ceremony at Evermore in October is pretty much every photographer's dream. I know that's oddly specific, but this is the type of stuff we get excited about.

Pete did an amazing job as officiant and groomsman. I'm starting to see more of this -- couples having their family members or friends officiate their ceremony and I'm seriously loving it.

Love this good looking group :)

Excuse me while I do a quick ad campaign for Morilee bridesmaids dresses.

Evermore always hosts a beautiful wedding day, but something about this particular seating plan was extra lovely.

It's becoming somewhat customary for old wedding photos to be displayed on a table with the guest book and card box. But Sarah & Ben also included wedding photos from the members of their wedding party! It was the first time I had seen that and it felt like a tribute not just to lengthy marriages, but new ones as well.

Oh, did I forget to mention that one of my good friends, Meghan, is the groom's second cousin and also the M.C. for the night? (If you know Meghan, then this next sentence is unnecessary.) She killed it.

Ottawa is a pretty small town, especially if you've been photographing weddings for 6 years. I first met Derek when he was a handsome groomsman for my friends Katelyn & James, and his beautiful new wife is Sarah's cousin! Small, small world.

Sarah & Ben -- hope you're having the BEST time in Paris for your honeymoon.
I remember so clearly being there just about 4 years ago for the same reason. I can't wait to hear all about it <3 Thank you so much for trusting me to document your beautiful wedding; everything was perfect, right down to the big "M." Love you guys!!
