kristen + nathan | a classic european inspired wedding at the westin twenty-two

Their love story is quite possibly the most epic that I've ever encountered. In Nathan's wedding speech to Kristen he poured into the many examples of how two lives almost crossed paths a hundred times. In one case, finding themselves working at the same place during high school, but on alternating shifts that never once resulted in their meeting.

In another example, Nathan accepted a position working at a restaurant, not knowing that it was the exact position that Kristen had just vacated in order to go off to Queen's University. Even though they grew up just a few streets away, they were always separated either by time or proximity. When she was spending time in Australia and Vancouver, Nathan found himself in London and Bangledesh. But from the time they spent together as roommates after they were finished travelling the world, a friendship grew into something much more. They pursued their impressive careers and ultimately became the perfect match, the soulmate, the missing link in each other's lives.

Together, these two will take on the world. And the part where they become husband and wife, well that's just the beginning.  This wedding was my very last addition to the 2018 calendar, and yet somehow I can't imagine my season without it. Take a look...

There has never been a bad picture of Kristen ever... Ever, ever.

A quick elevator ride to go hang out with Nathan and his boys for a bit:

Nathan's favourite scotch for the room, and Cristal for the rooftop, obviously.

Kristen's twin nieces were basically the stars of the show. Many more squishy baby photos to come...

Aaaaand my favourite photo that has been all over Instagram these last couple weeks:

The Design Co. killed it with this bouquet!

UGH. I just adore these two people so much. Something about this photo makes me really happy:

See that big glass box on the top of the Westin? That's where we're headed, to see exactly how Stacey and her team have transformed a big empty room into a magical wedding reception fit for a stylish King and Queen...

Up to the twenty-second floor...

And into a dream.

This lounge was used by guests all night! Trust me folks, you can't just put random furniture into a room and expect it to turn into a lounge. There is so much work and design that goes into making something like this and I can tell you that it certainly paid off.

Sneaking a peek at their space before the guests came in! This has been a fun new addition to my 2018 weddings, I now want to sneak in every bride and groom before dinner!!

Every detail was meticulously planned. The fact that guests were immediately snacking and passing these charcuterie platters around as soon as they sat down was not an accident. At the heart of all the beautiful details was the notion that Kristen & Nathan cared about creating a truly incredible guest experience.

On the 23rd floor, while guests were being ushered into the reception, Kristen and Nathan told their families that we had one last shot to take: a rooftop photo at dusk.

And right when everyone directed their attention to me, wondering why I wasn't taking the photo, the music was cued and Kristen & Nathan shared a private first dance in front of their closest crew.

It was one of my favourite memories from the day.

And so perfectly "them."

And just like that, it was time to party:

That sparkly view of the city in the background... Obsessed!

Kristen & Nathan -- what a fairytale. I honestly cannot believe you pulled this off in less than 7 months! I am so thankful that our paths have crossed through the most incredible people that we are lucky to call mutual friends. I seriously cannot WAIT for the date night that we will surely have when you get back from your honeymoon! I will always look back on this day and know that it was perfect. And it makes my entire world to know you'll do the very same <3 Love you both!!
