genevieve + chris | elegant wedding at the westin

They shared the same high school. They shared the same home town. But they fell in love years later. In the nation's capital they turned their friendship into a relationship, and became the wonderful couple that is Chris & Gen.

On a cruise ship while they were having their photo taken, Chris got down on one knee. I kind of had a feeling it was coming and couldn't WAIT for them to get back in town. Since then, they've been planning the most amazing wedding. It was important that out-of-town guests would get a taste of all the beauty this city has to offer. And in true Chris & Gen fashion, it was executed flawlessly.

I am so happy, on this dreary Friday morning, to be sharing photos from their perfect wedding. I hope you can feel the pure joy of this day while you scroll. I hope the smile on your face is as big as mine, because this is the good stuff. This is a true vision of a dream wedding.

This ring shot will undoubtedly remain a favourite for years to come. Not only because of the light reflecting off the gold foil invitation, but because of the two names written out in script. Seeing my friends become husband and wife makes me so happy.

Genevieve as a bride -- everyone had tears in their eyes because she was just so lovely.

Four blocks down from the hotel, the church bells rang at the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral

I have to give a little shoutout to my boys. They were SO good all day. From keeping their ties and jackets organized during the morning prep, to reminding their buddy to keep good posture.

It was somehow intimate in the giant cathedral. And this was Chris' face when the doors opened to reveal his stunning bride. Okay, that's as far as I can get before the tears start.

These gorgeous ladies were so. much. fun.

In case you were wondering, there were Pokemon in the quad. It's 2016, people, let's document it. And give our kids something to make fun of us for.

Gen's custom Sarah Walsh Bridal earrings are everything.

One of my favourite photos ever. Couldn't this be an estate in the South of France?!

The reception was held at the Westin, in a room overlooking the canal and the Chateau Laurier. As the sun set, fireworks went off across the river and could be seen from almost every seat in the house.

Chris & Gen -- I won't wish you luck (just kiddingggg! I won't try to replicate that speech, promise.) I'm going to keep it simple. You two are so very special. Ryan and I are grateful to have found you and we treasure the friendship that we have built over the last few years. Witnessing your wedding was an honour for us. Documenting it for you was such a joy.

To a lifetime of friendship, marriage, and LOTS of little babies!
We love you!
