kate + cam | signature wedding at sidedoor kitchen in the byward market

It was the kind of day I'd be happy to relive a million times... From the sunny autumn weather, to the vibrant colours that popped in all the right places, to the couple who is so clearly a perfect match. Kate & Cam -- there are no words. Everything was absolutely perfect and I know you know it too <3

Some of you will know that I started my business as a wedding photographer when I was engaged. When I stood at the bottom of the that mountain and decided to climb, it was visions of days like this, of people like Kate and Cam, of details that had meaning and celebrations that were effortless. With every step I knew that the work was important.

I knew that if I could play a small roll in someone else's perfect day, that it wouldn't be frivolous. It would be important. It's never just a wedding day, and I can't think of a better couple than Kate & Cam to show that underneath all the detail, the colour, the magic... is a foundation for what will be a rock solid and incredible marriage.

K&C, I could easily say congratulations on your perfect wedding. Because it was. But from the bottom of my heart, congratulations on finding each other, and starting this next chapter with as much joy as is humanly possible. With that, let's dive in.

Already off to an angelic start...

Still swooning over this vibrant bouquet!!

A first look in Major's Hill Park:

We died in this moment. It was like a perfect Fall-wedding-in-Ottawa postcard if I do so so myself.

After our photos were wrapped, we headed to Sidedoor for the ceremony and reception. This venue seems to be popping up everywhere and I'm looking forward to more weddings in this space next year!

I can't talk about the ceremony because I will write words that make you cry and you don't want to cry at work while scrolling through this blog post, my friend.

I kid you not, these two raced down the aisle and out the door and onto the street, bound to make it for that final sunset glow over the river.

Found the glow...

Back at Sidedoor, guests drank and ate and heard some touching (& hilarious) words from Kate & Cam's friends and family.

Showstopper! Don't forget to peek into the credits when you're done scrolling, because The Girl With the Most Cake was in good company on this baller list of vendors.

Aaaaand this photo will go down in history as a forever favourite. I love you guys! I am so honoured to have been a part of your team. All my love!! xo
