kelly + adam | romantic wedding at restaurant eighteen

On a rainy morning in July, two best friends woke up with views of the city and butterflies in their stomachs, knowing that this would be the day they FINALLY became husband and wife. Not only was it their wedding day, but it was their ten year anniversary.

In his speech later that evening, Adam said he was in awe of his new wife. He couldn't believe his luck marrying a girl who was as kind, generous, and gorgeous as Kelly. The bridesmaids had tears in their eyes because they knew in their hearts that he was the perfect match for their best friend.

Celebrating Kelly & Adam's wedding day was a pleasure, and capturing it for them was a responsibility that I took very seriously. In the words of my friend Cat, and one of Kelly's bridesmaids, "how can this whole day be narrowed down to one blog post?!" Settle in with your cup of tea, friends, because this one gives me butterflies.

For a sommelier at a first class restaurant in the city, and his lovely champagne-loving bride, these little details were my favourite.

Have you ever seen a more gorgeous bride? Love you, Kel.

The girls. Starting from the left, the most beautiful little nugget, Kate. This girl is always smiling and half-dancing her way through life. Beside her: Catty. Catty and I became friends at my first bookclub meeting. I fell in love with her kind heart and sassy sense of humour. She teaches me how to use Snapchat. Rhiannon. This girl is a ray of sunshine, and one of those girls that you just can't help but be friends with. She was one of Kelly's two maids of honour, and for good reason.

Of course you know Kelly, the most beautiful bride there has ever been. She has been the easiest client from day one when she said, "we want you to shoot our wedding!" We were friends at the time from bookclub, but we've doubled it since then <3

Tina is Kelly's new sister-in-law, and she's one of two inherited daughters for "The Jude." Tina and Jason are so sweet together, and you'll see a couple photos of them later on. Beside Tina is Meghan, my spirit animal. We kind of look alike, we kind of ARE alike, and I thought we could both sing pretty well but then Meghan destroyed that by singing like a queen at the ceremony. I still love her though.

And on the far right we have Kathleen, Kelly's beautiful mom and best friend. I witnessed countless moments between these two girls on the wedding day, sharing a hug, having a pep talk, or blotting tears from their lashes.

All hands on deck to get this stunning bride wedding-ready.

The decor at the church was simple, understated, and absolutely perfect for Kelly and Adam.

Quick shoutout to my OTHER two girls on this amazing day: Brittany and Stacey from The Design Co. They kept everything organized, handled all of the setup, and their teammate Emma created ALL of the florals you'll see in this post.

I took this photo while we waited for the first limo to arrive.

Kelly's brother officiated the ceremony. He delivered a touching and heartfelt ceremony for them, while also managing to include a quote from Friends...

It is a love based on giving and receiving as well as having and sharing.
And the love that they give and have is shared and received.
And through this having, and giving, and sharing, and receiving,
we too can share and love, and have...and receive.

After the ceremony, the rain started back up. Bouquet umbrellas = not going to cut it. We knew we needed to take their photos inside.

These Design Co. florals...obsessed.

The rain stopped! We took the party outside and hustled to get as much done before the next round of showers.

Look at these handsome men! I don't know them as well as the girls, so I can't do a from-the-left introduction. But I do know that a handful of them are friends from high school, and that when they come together as a group, they give me some HILARIOUS material for dance floor photos.

The reception was held at Restaurant 18, a place that will one day be credited for starting Adam's long and successful career in the restaurant industry. The food was unbelievable, the wine was flowing, and the room was captivated by the stories that were told in the candlelight.

One last quick introduction: Jessica and George. A future Laura Kelly Bride & Groom! I can't wait to photograph their wedding next year <3

Book club husbands, all in a row. Mitch goes with Kate, Shaun goes with Meghan, and I get the handsome one on the right.

Kelly and Adam -- enjoy your honeymoon in PARADISE! I don't have the words to adequately thank you for your love, support, and ultimately your trust in me to document your day. Kel, in your speech you said you wanted to have the best of the best when it came to your vendors. I am truly, truly honoured that you considered me in the same category as your other choices. It was a joy to work with such a great group of people. You made me feel like a sixth bridesmaid, and I'll never forget it.

P.S. Thank heaven for the balcony outfit, #amiright.
