It was a tiny little box.
Brian came and found me just minutes before Emily would be arriving for their first look. He knew Emily would want me to capture him opening it. He carefully pulled out a silver locket from the box and opened it to reveal a photo of his grandfather and his mother; two people who would have loved to be with them that day.
He held back the tears, but I knew how much the gift meant to him.
If there's one thing I know from witnessing Emily and Brian's wedding, it's that their love runs deep. They know each other better than anyone else. Everyone commented on how they'd never seen a happier couple than Emily and Brian, and I have to admit...it was true for me too.
As you pour into these wedding photos, I hope the tune of "Here Comes the Sun" plays in the back of your mind, as that was the song that followed Emily and Brian down the aisle...

I love that Emily incorporated her grandmother's necklace into her details. After I took a few photos of it, she tied it to the lace on her bouquet.

Jessie is a wedding photographer also, but she left her real camera behind and volunteered to capture some candid polaroids for Emily and Brian. These tiny prints were scattered around the getting-ready suite. They will be such sweet memories for them to look back on...
A beautiful diamond and saphire bracelet from the groom. This, my friends, is the look of true surprise :)
Over at Temples Sugar Bush, the boys were putting the finishing touches on their looks. It's pretty difficult to tie a tie without a mirror!
While looking through these wedding photos after the fact, I was absolutely stunned with how Brian's mom looks exactly like his sister, Allison. You'll spot her later in a few photos.
I was lucky enough to meet Brian's mother's parents; two kind souls who reaffirmed that she would have absolutely LOVED to be present for Brian's wedding. It seems that everyone who knew her was positive she would have adored Emily. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house during the speeches that night.
Right after the gift opening, it was time for the first look. I love the nervous jitters between Bride and Groom right before they see each other. I love even more how calm they both become after the reveal.
Time for the wedding party to join!! These sunny bridesmaids dresses looked beautiful on each girl.

Brian's face as he watched Emily walk up the aisle... The look of a Groom who knows he has made the right decision.
Shoutout to the handsome reverend! Seriously, if you haven't found the perfect officiant for your wedding, give Gord Marriage a ring because he did an outstanding job (and he's pretty easy on the eyes, am I right?).

Temples Sugar Bush is a wonderful venue. I've had the pleasure of shooting there twice now and I can't wait to go back!
My last few moments with Emily and Brian that day were spent in this amazing sunset. I asked Emily if she'd prefer a 30 second walk to a spot that would be "just okay" or a 5 minute hike to a spot that could potentially blow their minds.
She didn't hesitate in choosing the hike. I'm in love with the golden rays of sunshine that fill these photos. And I think it's the perfect way to end this post...

Laura, you captured the bride and groom as I remember the day. You would think that these shots were all posed but I know better. You also managed to get Brian's natural smile, which is very difficult to do head on. When we met Emily and Brian the next day I was surprised to that they did not have sore cheeks from all the smiling they were doing. They smiled from the start of their day right all the way to the taxi at the end of the day.
