visions and goal setting for 2020

Listen, I love Christmas as much as the next girl. But January just holds such a magical quality in my life, what with the return of The Bachelor, Vanderpump Rules, and that spark of new year motivation that makes me want to double up on the coffee and re-organize every aspect of my entire life.

2019 was a pivotal year for me. (By the way, I plan on being able to say that for every year from now until I'm 85.) I've been working on creating some new boundaries, goals, and visions for the new year, and I thought I'd share them with you here.

I have a DEEP love for self-improvement.

And I've realized that only by reflecting on the changes and growth from 2019, can I hope to extend some of those intentions into 2020. So walk with me down memory lane for a few updates on all the good stuff from photography, to the podcast, coaching, family, friendships, money, and self.

best wedding photography in ottawa from all of 2019

PART ONE: Florals / PART TWO: Dresses and Veils
PART THREE: Lifestyle / PART FOUR: Unique Details
PART SEVEN: Bloopers / PART EIGHT: Engagement Photos

I'm beyond excited to dive into the GORGEOUSNESS of 2019 with you today!

There were so many emotional moments, so many beautiful details, and a truly incredible number of happy celebrations that made the year one of my best yet.

With the publishing of this post, the year in review series comes to a close. It's bitter and sweet and I'm ready. My first wedding of 2020 is just around the corner, but I wouldn't be ready to open up my heart to a new year without the proper recognition of the couples who began the next chapter of their love story in 2019.

This is a big post, friends. It deserves coffee, focus, and a slow but steady scroll. Let's dig in!!

PART ONE: Florals / PART TWO: Dresses and Veils
PART THREE: Lifestyle / PART FOUR: Unique Details

PART SEVEN: Bloopers

Quick question: how did I get so lucky to work with all of these incredible couples?! I've been asking myself that for a few weeks straight as I prepared all of these year in review series posts for you, and especially after seeing the engagements lined up and in one place -- I'm overwhelmed with gratitude!

On today's post we'll be touring our way through Ottawa over all four seasons, picking up the very best of the best shots for you to use as inspiration going forward! Let's start with a sunny summer angle of the Chateau Laurier with Christine and Jason:

the photos that (almost) didn't make the cut in 2019

PART ONE: Florals / PART TWO: Dresses and Veils
PART THREE: Lifestyle / PART FOUR: Unique Details

Every year I wonder, will there be enough material to put together a post about the shots that almost didn't make the cut? But then you guys go ahead and make it easy by sharing your real, unedited personalities to me on the camera, and I end up having to cut the post in half because of how long it's getting...

So this one's for you. It's an ode to the not-so-perfect, not-so-poised, not-so-pretty moments that are ABSOLUTELY worth honouring. I give you: the photos that (almost) didn't make the cut.

The first category: drinking is hard.

grace + justin | a spectacular viva las vegas wedding

With much anticipation, it's the VEGAS blog post!! You remember Grace and Justin from this adorable engagement session, and now they're back in the land of luck for an incredible day that we will remember forever!

I absolutely loved joining Grace, Justin, the wedding party, and the families for this celebration that featured the perfect mix of tacky and timeless. I don't know exactly how Grace and Justin did it... but it was flawless.

Scroll to your heart's desire with this one, it keeps getting better and better! xo

behind the scenes of the 2019 wedding season

PART ONE: Florals / PART TWO: Dresses and Veils
PART THREE: Lifestyle / PART FOUR: Unique Details

I probably say this every time... but the behind the scenes post is one of my favourite instalments in the year in review series! I had so much fun looking back on all of the gorgeous galleries from 2019 to find hints of the team, the crew, the people behind the curtain who help to pull off your wildest dreams.

You've seen the polished versions, but here's a zoomed out look at what was happening in the background before or after some of your favourite shots!
