incredible florals of 2019

Honesty corner? I light my Christmas tree super early and get into the holiday spirit before there's even snow on the ground, partially because I'm a party girl and will take any excuse to celebrate, and also because it means I can start thinking about my favourite blogging initiative of the calendar year...

After the dust settles on a wedding season and my camera finds it's home in hibernation, the YEAR IN REVIEW series is the sparkle that reminds us of the incredible memories that were made along the way.

It is my great delight to kick off the series this year with a collection of the show-stopping florals that added so much beauty in each and every frame.

Let's begin off with this MASTERPIECE chandelier decor from Nicole & Enea's wedding at Le Belvedere back in August. My girl Katherine from Pollen Nation Floral Studio always delivers:

I had the opportunity to work with Pollen Nation on multiple weddings this year, including Brittany & Mike's wedding at the NAC with Gloss Events:

2019 was a year of incredible floral designs. Some blooms were vibrant, others monochrome. Some installations crawled floor to ceiling, while other elements had me zooming in close to capture the details.

Kate's perfect fall bouquet by Harmony Florals will be pictured multiple times, as one of my faves from the whole year:

In case you were wondering if Pollen Nation only works on large scale events, here's a photo from Leanne & Mahmoud's backyard elopement, featuring a stunning bouquet that was perfect for their photos!

The ceremony arch at Le Belvedere has never looked better than after a massive install by The Design Co. for Lin & Dashan's wedding!

The team at Wedecor created an elegant garden reception at The Ottawa Conference & Events Centre for Julia and Matt's wedding, featuring this beautiful white wall:

Julie's florals were beyond special. Her mom is a talented floral designer at Langdon's and created an elaborate set up for her daughter's wedding at Strathmere.

This bouquet was one of my absolute favourites from the whole year, especially because of the love and care that was woven into every strand...

Soft pinks and creams never looked so good -- I'm obsessed with these details from Shannon & Nick's wedding by Frid Events at Le Belvedere:

The only thing that could make Rachel's bouquet by Capital Florist even sweeter would be a soft sprinkle of snow...

Oh my goodness, how many florals can we get into one single photo?! The Wedecor team outdid themselves for Julia and her girls...

Daina's bouquet by The Floral Boutique in Carleton Place featured soft purple details and a ribbon accent:

Just wait until you see the reception design that Wedecor created to match Christine's stunning bouquet...

Throwing it all the way back to the first wedding of the year! Amber's florals came from Sage Designs, who was kind enough to include a collection of blooms for me to use when styling her details.

I could have chosen a hundred different shots of Cassandra's bouquets for this post, but how often do you get to celebrate a photo of three bouquets in a hug -- the best. Loving these blooms by Autumn's Fine Flowers at Stonefields!

My friend Chantsy opted to include a Pollen Nation bouquet in her plans for an anniversary session with her husband of 10 years! The colours and the textures in this one -- swoon-worthy.

Another view of Julia & Matt's reception by Wedecor! These florals were even bigger than they seem in these photos, and stunning from all angles.

Quick break from bouquets and floral installations for a little boutonnière appreciation party!!

Here are a few of my favourite details for the menfolk, starting with this set by The Design Co. for Michael and his groomsmen:

This colour combo on Enea looked so good. Side note: appreciation for this really unique suit colour!

A classic set in white for Greg and his groomsmen, courtesy of Mill Street Florist for a wedding at LAGO Dow's Lake:

Texture, texture, and more texture in this next set.

Sean and his guys were looking dapper for a tent wedding by Kennedy Events, down to the smallest detail like these bouts by Blue Thistle Florist

Okay, back to bouquets. Another angle of Kate's stunning bouquet by Harmony Florals:

Like I said at the top of this post, 2019 was the year of incredible florals (among other things, stay tuned for more posts in the YEAR IN REVIEW series!!).

Not only were these blooms held tight in their bouquets and draped elegantly in the background, they were also tossed into the air for a celebratory walk down the aisle as husband and wife!

This photo is one of my favourites -- grateful to The Design Co. for all their work to bring Lin and Dashan's wedding to life.

But the inspo doesn't stop there! Autumn's Fine Flowers even found a way to put some real florals in Cassandra's hair:

Can you picture a more gorgeous place to say your vows?! Obsessed with this set up by The Design Co. for Veronica and Michael!

Look at these Frid Events bouquets all lined up! I love this style:

Pretty pops of colour for Katelin, with a gorgeous floral crown to match! My first time working with Blue Thistle Florist was such a treat.

Pollen Nation Floral Studio and Gloss Events are a killer combo! As seen here with this massive installation in the NAC for Brittany and Mike:

Wedecor knows exactly how to speak straight to my heart with a bouquet design...

Daina's squad is giving me colour palette perfection thanks to these bouquets by The Floral Boutique and their ombré bridesmaids dresses!

And on a totally different note, this monochromatic masterpiece by Wedecor is so perfect for my beautiful bride, Julia:

One more look at Cassandra's fall bouquet for her wedding at Stonefields, courtesy of Autumn's Fine Flowers:

One of the most unique bouquet options from this season for sure! This orchid piece by The Design Co. was elegant to a whole other level:

And whether the blooms were over-the-top or effortlessly minimal...

It was such a pleasure to capture all of the unique styles for my incredible clients...

Whether I was capturing a muted, neutral, and textured creation like Brittany's bouquet by Pollen Nation Floral Studio...

Or a vibrant and sunny bouquet and flower crown...

I feel honoured to have access to these beautiful blooms, which made our favourite photos and memories even better <3
