a winter's snow white | styled shoot

Did you see my post earlier this week about the Homes for the Holidays event? With all of that stunning Christmas decor and florals? Well this next shoot is a byproduct of that beautiful setup by Gloss Events & Decor and Flowers Talk. I remember staring at the incredible centrepiece and asking Brittany, what's going to happen to all of this after the weekend is over? We knew a styled shoot was in order, and with a blanket of fresh snow hitting us on Sunday night, the Winter's Snow White styled shoot was thrown together.

Yesterday I warmed up the blog with a bohemian picnic, today I'm cooling it down with some winter wedding inspiration on a windy, icy beach. Goes great with hot chocolate in hand...

From Brittany West, owner of Gloss Events & Decor:

"Cold, crisp air and endless lush florals left us feeling inspired. Within 24 hours we had connected a group of amazing vendors to bring this mini shoot to life. Our flawless model captured the essence of Snow White with her porcelain skin, long dark hair, and perfect red pout Snow blowing across the wintery beach was the perfect setting to create timeless romantic portraits."

bohemian inspired bridal shower | styled shoot

Most of you know I started photographing smaller, cozier, more intimate weddings just over a year ago. There's something so special to me about a couple who opts for something unique and personalized. The desire for something different translates to other wedding related events as well! Cait from Love is Love created this beautiful bohemian inspired bridal shower and it was a pleasure to photograph. For a snowy Thursday morning, I think it's just the right amount of pretty and picnic. Enjoy!

ruhama + alex | dream wedding at the terrace club in austin, texas

This morning I stood in the snow covered beach with bare hands and a hood that wouldn't stay on in the 40 mph winds. Winter has come to Ottawa and that means it's time to start inspiring the brides who picture a fresh blanket of snow on their wedding day. Back in my office, my toes are defrosting and my heart is full because I get to finally share a wedding that transports me right back to Summer.

Ruhama and Alex were married just two weeks ago in Dripping Springs, Texas and it was a dream. Everything from the oversized cactus plants to the romantic hints of emerald and gold...this wedding is flush with style and grace. I hope you can feel the warm Texas sunset while you scroll through today.  After two weeks of falling more and more in love with their photos, it is an absolute delight to share them on the blog today. Enjoy! And let this keep you warm until the snow thaws next April <3

Ruhama and Alex chose a first look, largely because they were planning a ceremony around the time of sunset. They knew that if they wanted portraits with natural light, they'd need to be taken beforehand. At one point Alex said to me, "after the ceremony it'll be party time!" Another reason why I LOVE a first look :)

One of my favourites from this whole day. There's something so timeless about it...

With a few minutes left before the ceremony, Ruhama and Alex and I took advantage of the setting sun. These pretty and soft photos are so sweet.

The guests piled in as the sky turned dark.

And a surprise mariachi band played the newlyweds down the aisle, into a cocktail hour that honoured Ruhama's Mexican heritage.

To Ruhama and Alex, my dear new friends. You've introduced me to a beautiful world, miles and miles from home, and made my heart happy with the memories of this perfect wedding day. Thank you for trusting me through it all! I simply adore you both so much and hope this little teaser into my favourite photos from your wedding day is making married life even sweeter than it was yesterday. Here's to keeping in touch!! <3
