incredible florals of 2019

Honesty corner? I light my Christmas tree super early and get into the holiday spirit before there's even snow on the ground, partially because I'm a party girl and will take any excuse to celebrate, and also because it means I can start thinking about my favourite blogging initiative of the calendar year...

After the dust settles on a wedding season and my camera finds it's home in hibernation, the YEAR IN REVIEW series is the sparkle that reminds us of the incredible memories that were made along the way.

It is my great delight to kick off the series this year with a collection of the show-stopping florals that added so much beauty in each and every frame.

Let's begin off with this MASTERPIECE chandelier decor from Nicole & Enea's wedding at Le Belvedere back in August. My girl Katherine from Pollen Nation Floral Studio always delivers:

rachel + david | winter wedding at the strathmere lodge

Have a Fall wedding, they said! It will be fun, they said!

Those words followed us as we traversed the gusty snowstorm that appeared out of nowhere on November 9th, the day of Rachel and David's wedding at Strathmere. We braved the goosebumps and the cold in pursuit of a few outdoor portraits, and I'm SO glad we did.

Take a walk through this beautiful wedding and know that it ended with a cozy fire and some really heartfelt and memorable moments! Enjoy!!

jessie + luke | fall engagement session with pup sadie

Saying goodbye to this beautiful fall weather as we all dig out our winter boots and coats -- but not before getting the chance to share this adorable engagement session with Jessie & Luke!

We met at a dog park in Manotick to capture these lovely shots featuring their far-too-photogenic pup, Sadie. I'm looking forward to Jessie & Luke's wedding in 2020 and so is Sadie!

cassandra + jason | fall wedding at stonefields loft and white chapel

Six years ago I did an exercise as part of a branding workshop, where I wrote down the characteristics of my ideal client.

Who was she? What was her job? What kind of style does she love?
How does she communicate in a text message?
What are her creative pursuits?
What matters most to her on her wedding day?

It felt indulgent to spend so much time trying to capture this made-up person, but clearly the exercise worked because it allowed me to speak directly to the heart of one particular bride to be, named Cassandra.

She's the epitome of the Laura Kelly Bride, someone who loves details but loves a killer experience more. She put in so much work to execute this wedding day, but when it actually came, she let go of the reigns and truly allowed herself to enjoy every second. She's creative, she's hilarious, and she's got the best people in her life including her Groom, Jason; the perfect yin to her yang.

Today is a special day! It's my chance to share the very beautiful, very joyful (while also being the perfect amount of spooky with black details!) wedding of Cassie and Jason at one of my favourite wedding venues ever. On the last weekend of October, Cassandra and Jason were surrounded by their very favourite people at Stonefields for a beautiful celebration of what will be a lifelong marriage between two best friends.

I am so excited for you to see it!!
