selling our dream home!

As of today, our dream home is officially on the market! It is so bitter-sweet. Bitter because I dreamed of walking our kids down the street to the elementary school every morning. Sweet because I know that that dream will still exist in our new neighbourhood.

It's sad because this really is the house of our dreams. It's filled with sunshine on a gorgeous day, and looks like it belongs in a gingerbread scene after a fresh snowfall. We've lived in this home for close to 3 years and I still smile every time I pull into the driveway.

But new adventures are calling our name, a little closer to the city than Stittsville can offer. A life with less hours spent in traffic and more family outings on the weekend. A simpler life with wine shared on the porch instead of backyard parties under the pergola lights.

Our home on Delamere Drive will always be marked with joy as we look back on our ever-changing lives. We turned our family of three into a family of four here. And these walls were a delight to call our home for this most recent chapter.

Help us spread the word! If you know of anyone who is looking to live in a cozy, quaint neighbourhood that's perfect for raising a family -- send them over here!

sylvia + frederic | cordon bleu signatures restaurant wedding

After so many years in the business it's pretty rare to receive a wedding inquiry for an Ottawa venue that I've never heard of... Enter: Signatures Restaurant on Laurier. Sylvia and Frederic assured me it was a quaint little French restaurant with a suite where Sylvia could get ready, and an outdoor terrace that would make for some really beautiful photos. I was so excited! And not just about getting my French on for the dinner part... It's always great to shoot in a new place, seeing it with completely fresh eyes and an inspired heart.

I think there's no better time than right this second to dive in and showcase Sylvia & Frederic's classically romantic Fall wedding day. Enjoy!

Sylvia is the most elegant bride. She looks like she belongs in a different century here:

On the other side of town, Frederic was getting ready with his gents. I really really adored the members of the wedding party from this particular wedding. They were so helpful and conscientious of the couple they were there to support.

A special photo request from Fred's niece. The best.

Where else would an elegant, classic couple choose for their ceremony if not for the Notre Dame Cathedral on Sussex.

Pretty stoked to exchange their promised to one another. Witnessing true emotion during a wedding ceremony is one of my favourite parts of the job.

I shared this photo on Instagram and said that I have a habit of making rainy days look bright and sunny. Truth is we were starting to get pretty drenched here so we stepped inside a little nook by the National Gallery to finish up the wedding party photos.

And then the rain stopped. Praise!

What a perfect way to wrap up the shoot. Onwards to dinner & drinks!

Sylvia & Frederic -- thank you for being so calm, cool, and collected all day! You handled that bit of rain like BOSSES and I'm grateful for your willingness to risk the bottom of a dress for the chance to get stunning photos. All my love for the years to come! I know your marriage will be a blessed and happy one.
