sarah walsh bridal | staff and studio shoot

This sweet, kind hearted girl came into my life at a time when I was low on friends. I was getting adjusted to my new life as a full time photographer, feeling alienated without my daily water cooler gossip sessions. It's funny to think about how different our lives were then... It was before my babies, it was before Sarah's studio. She operated a wildly successful bridal accessories business out of her home, but dreamed of more. Our lives have changed and our friendship has grown.

She's honestly one of my favourite people in the entire world. And just this week we FINALLY arranged some time for a little staff photoshoot and a studio tour. It's my pleasure to show you around Sarah Walsh Bridal today <3

This is where all the magic happens. A sunny second floor studio in the Glebe, complete with exposed brick, and a balcony overlooking Fourth Avenue.

By appointment, Sarah meets with brides and shows them her amazing collection of freshwater pearls, gemstones, and crystals. My favourite thing to hear: "Guess which one of your brides was in the studio today!"

The team: Carly, Sarah, and Zoe. I am so thankful for these girls, because they allow Sarah to spend more of her time designing new pieces.

I never thought I'd see a 50 inch canvas of one of my photos before! Hellooooo Brittany <3 This is still one of our favourite shoots together.

After the shoot, we grabbed dinner in our usual spot, and toasted two glasses of watermelon sangria. To us, friends and small business owners. To finding joy in every venture. To living our best lives.

megan + roy | mill of kintail engagement session

When I met Megan and Roy last fall, Megan told me she had already found the PERFECT place for their engagement photos. Mill of Kintail was a big part of her life growing up, and they still make time to visit with their pup.

I had never been, so this sweet couple showed me around and pointed out a few of their favourite spots. With a bucket of lilacs in tow, we braved the 38 degree weather and captured some lovely photos of one of the happiest couples I've ever met. So happy to introduce you to Megan & Roy! I am crazy excited for their wedding at Evermore this Summer <3

kelly + scott | romantic summer ranch wedding

She had been checking the weather report religiously. Two weeks in advance, she assumed the weatherman knew what he was doing when he said it would pour rain. I told her to stop checking. How can anyone predict if it's going to rain TWO WEEKS from now? To be honest, I've kind of never believed in checking the weather...

Sure enough, we all woke up in our different getting-ready locations to see sunshine and a blue sky. A perfect day for Kelly and Scott to get married :)

What we didn't know at the time was that the weatherman had a trick up his sleeve. A sunny morning, a sunny first look, the brightest and most beautiful outdoor ceremony you ever did see, and a torrential downpour while we were trapped in an open-faced barn taking the wedding party photos. And the big finale? Clear skies and a glowing sunset to end the day.

I guess Kelly got her rain, but only in the most extraordinary, memorable way that no one could have expected.

But now, let's turn our focus to the couple at hand: Kelly and Scott. Where do I even begin with these two... They've been dream clients since the very first meeting. Laid back, sincere, and wholly trusting in me to document their wedding day. Their engagement session was effortless, the invitation that came in the mail was perfectly styled, and in the days leading up to May 22nd, I had butterflies in my stomach knowing what kind of day was in store.

They are best friends, soulmates, and their relationship is one that other couples aspire to. As you take a look at the details of Kelly & Scott's wedding, you'll notice one thing that strings every piece of their story together, and that's pure happiness.

This bouquet from Presh Floral stopped everyone in their tracks. The girls and I were SO excited in the morning when Tanya came and dropped everything off.

Kelly's Anne Sportun ring is too perfect. I obsessed over it during their engagement session, and it was no different on the wedding day.

This is Harley, everyone. She is a fluffy little ball of love and she was a superstar on her parents' big day. She walked down the aisle, sniffing guests as she went, and ultimately ended up laying down in the grass with the best view of the ceremony.

Kelly & Scott: It was a true pleasure to witness your vows, meet your friends, and celebrate your wedding day with you. I hope you danced the night away and woke up the next morning with tired feet and happy hearts. All my love!
