stephie + brian | brockville wedding

She's one of those people with a zest for life that's surely contagious. He's a country boy with a kind and generous heart. They found each other, and knew very quickly that it was a perfect fit.

Stephie and Brian were married this past Saturday on an incredibly hot but beautiful day in Brockville. Well, we started the day in Athens...I'm pretty sure we hit Brockville at some point, and when it came time for me to GPS my way home, apparently we were in Spencerville. It was a whirlwind of a day and I couldn't be happier to share some of my favourite photos from it.

S+B...thanks for being so wonderful! You made the heat bearable and even better than that, you made it look easy. Enjoy!

Instead of writing heartfelt cards to her parents, Stephanie had these gorgeous handkerchiefs embroidered with sweet messages.

OFFICIALLY MARRIED! I love that Stephie and Brian chose to mingle with their guests outside the church before driving away in the vintage '69 Impala. All of their guests were so happy to be able to hug the newlyweds right away!

My favourite photo from the day:

a punch of colour | styled shoot

This shoot has sat on my heart since probably my second year shooting weddings. I had this vision of brightness, punchy pops of colour, happy people throwing confetti...and I held it there until I thought I was ready to execute it the way I wanted to. I needed the right team on my side, and I needed them to buy into this whole idea of over-the-top vibrance.

When this shoot finally came together in January, I remember taking a moment to soak it all in. It was magical to me that something I'd been picturing for years had come to life right before my eyes.

All of the decor and decor styling was done by Melissa of Makin' It Lovely. You'll remember the romantic tablescape we worked on together over the winter (and I'm stoked to see that those photos are all over her new website!).

My wonderful friend, Alyssa Beltempo took over control where I needed her most: fashion. She chose our models, their wardrobes, and arranged everything from hair and makeup to the wedding bands they'd wear for the shoot. She's a genius and I wish we could work together every day.

The next person who requires a major shoutout is Tanya from Presh Floral. It was my first time working with her and I was BLOWN AWAY with her creations. I am crazy excited that she will be doing the florals for some of my upcoming weddings.

Okay, time to obsess over this INSANE cake by The Cake Whisperer. I mean...does it get any better than this?! Cat is an artist and I consider it a privilege to photograph her work :)

It was such a treat to see these photos featured on Wedding Chicks -- what an amazing blog for a bride-to-be!
