hide the bride! (& a sneak peek)

As I type this, a bus full of brides-to-be are being shuttled off to some unknown location, waiting pattiently for their grooms to find them. It's this amazing contest by Hot 899 and Strathmere and I am SO happy to be a part of it!

Early squirrely this morning I was lucky enough to meet almost all of the 40 couples competing today, secretly wondering who was going to win the big FREE WEDDING package. Ahhh! One of these couples will have me as their photographer and they don't even know it yet.

While we wait to find out who wins… here's a little teaser of Danielle & Mark's engagement session that went down last night during sunset:

I can't wait to photograph their wedding this July! I can already tell Danielle will be a stunning bride, and Mark, a very handsome groom.

YAY FOR WEDDING SEASON!

kim + jeremy | a classic wedding at cedarhill golf + country club

She said to him, "Are you my neighbour?"

They went on a date, they fell in love, and last Sunday…they got married.

Kim and Jeremy are a gorgeous couple -- this we know for sure. But anyone who knows them will tell you that they've got hearts of gold. As cliche as that sounds, they're two of the best people I know.

Kim and I were immediately drawn to each other. We bonded over falling in love with accountants and we kept each other company while they worked ridiculously long hours. When Kim and Jer got engaged, I was so excited to be given the opportunity to document their wedding day. What I didn't realize at the time was that our friendship would continue to grow and by the time the wedding day rolled around, she would be one of the closest friends I'd ever had.

Watching her prepare for this day reminded me that above all (every decision about hairstyles, florals, and centrepieces), it's really about the marriage. Not a month went by in Kim's planning process that she didn't text me saying, "I'm just so excited to marry Jer." And as we waited for her to walk down the aisle, the look on Jeremy's face said, "I just can't wait to marry Kim."

I am very excited to share these images from their beautiful wedding day, and I love knowing that the newlyweds will see them for the first time while on their honeymoon in Austria.

Enjoy!

Kim, you are such a stunning bride!

Jeremy's gift to Kim was this pair of custom made bridal earrings by my favourite designer ever, Sarah Walsh Bridal. He knows her so well…enough to know she'd want to wear something original; something no bride has ever worn before.

Kim's wedding party was made up of her two sisters, and her three friends who all happen to be named Jessica. I love this image of the Jessicas seeing her for the first time in her dress...

It's a toss up between about a hundred images…but this one stands out as one of my favourites. I feel very lucky to have shared a private moment with Kim in the hotel room, right before the ceremony. We talked about little things like lipstick and whether or not to have another glass of wine…but we also took a moment to breathe and take it all in.

I had one main goal for Kim on her wedding day: enjoy it.

I love that she took my advice on that.

Sunday May 18th, 2014 was a perfect day to get married.

As they turned the corner after the ceremony, the whole wedding party erupted in laughter, hugs, and congratulations for the newly married couple. It was one of the best moments of the whole day.

Oh yeah, and Kim realized that she had given Jer a few too many kisses with her bright pink lipstick… Love them.

Such a handsome group of guys…

I adore these ladies!! I am so happy to have met them.

Kim, Jer… thank you for being an amazing couple to photograph. Having you in front of my camera is such a joy, honestly.

After touring the golf course taking photos, we settled in for an evening of heartfelt speeches, reaaaaally delicious food, and killer dance moves (you know who you are).

To my dear, dear friends Kim & Jeremy:

Congratulations on becoming husband and wife.
And from the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting me be a part
of your wedding day, and witness the crazy love that you guys feel for each other.

I love you guys.
